Posted by editor in Career Advice, Job Hunting Resources

If you’re in professional or corporate limbo right now, and are looking for professional contacts, you should try making a profile at LinkedIn.com.

LinkedIn.com is a professional networking site that allows people to establish their own professional network. Especially if you have a good work history, you can try finding people you used to work with and add them into your network. And if you feel you did a particularly good job with or for them, you can ask for a recommendation from them. The physics that drive LinkedIn are not any different from a social networking website like Friendster or Facebook, except that the goal in LinkedIn is to go beyond friendships and into establishing a network of professional contacts. LinkedIn is free of charge, simply register to be able to create your own professional profile.

Posted by Administrator in Imp @ja

Identity theft victimize millions and millions of people worldwide. And the thieves are gaining so much from it. Everyday, we hear of identity theft. And sadly it had destroyed so many lives. Online identity theft poses a problem to everybody, including you. One way of preventing identity theft is to watch out for skimmers and shoulder surfers. When you are in a public cafe or in an atm, you should beware of people leaning too closely to you. Shoulder-surfers use cameras to record what you encode. Skimmers attempts to get your PINs or some other banking details in an ATM site. What you should do also, is to use familiar ATM machines so that you can decipher if something is not right.

The easiest and most efficient way to look for a decent job is to go online job searching. Newspaper is the thing of the past and you’ll have to rush through the newspaper stand to buy one. One good reason why it is much better to search online is you wont have dirty fingers anymore. Newspaper can be quite messy all of the time. While it really isnt that bad, Searching through the internet is more like it. You can be sure you’ve made the right choice as soon as you start surfing. You dont have to flip through pages. You dont have to pop your eyes out just to scan through all of the ads that are written so crampily with each other. Searching online gives you the ease of looking for a particular job by just typing certain keyword. Keyword is all it takes to sort through all the available ads relevant to your search. Lastly, if you’re still not satisfied with just the keyword searching. Try searching it by Date, Company, Specialization and Location. Now, how cool and easy can that be.

Separating Genuine Work-from-Home Jobs from Scams

Posted by Administrator in Job Hunting Advice

Its hard enough to look for a work-at-home job without going thru some online scams., Fake work at home jobs abound from scammers just waiting for you to fall for. A positive outlook while browsing might do the trick. Scammers prey on desperation. When you’re desperate you want to believe that something is true, even though it’s obviously not.

  • Real employers want a resume and job experience, if they don’t ask for it, they’re probably not real.
  • The lack of an email address or address, and a phone number instead. Real employers don’t have time to talk to every applicant on the phone as they call-in, they’ll want you to email or fax a resume so they can read it when they have time.
  • A real job will always list the job responsibilities, so that they only get candidates who are ready and willing to do the work. A scam job doesn’t list job duties.
  • Don’t waste your time with any employer who asks you for money, be it for a “starter kit” or for any reason. You’re looking to make money, not spend it.
  • Its best to print this out or keep it where you can see it so when you are browsing through the net, you will be reminded to watch out for these scammers.
